The Georgie Award Nominations were announced! Once a year, the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of British Columbia, CHBABC, invites their member companies to participate in the Georgie Awards®.
Through these awards, they acknowledge excellence through this provincial awards platform. it really gives builders like us an opportunity to showcase our projects. Specifically, the quality, durability, and techniques that we use to build them.
We work hard to continue to build quality homes so when we enter these awards, we do so hoping that our work will be recognized. Hence, why we were elated when 4 out of 5 of our entries were nominated. In March, we will find out if we won when we attend the Gala. Cross your fingers for us! Until then, here is what we were nominated for.
Hasler Homes Ltd 2020 Nominations
Custom Home Valued between $1,900,00 – $3,000,000: Bold Views aka Duchess
This 5600 square foot custom Bone Structure home is nestled into a rock overlooking Gleneagles. This required blasting rock, lots of structural detail, and maintaining height restriction. Team Hasler worked closely with an architect to ensure the home was built properly amidst the rock. The Bone Structure team was also helpful in the best design for this versatile floor plan.
Best Certified Home: Bold Views aka Duchess
Over the past couple of years, Greg and Team Hasler have worked hard building sustainable homes. This is probably the most important of the Georgie Award Nominations, considering we are not the only builder working hard at this. For our Duchess project, we were successful in reaching Built Green Gold, an Energuide rating of 95, and the Air-changes result were 1.86. To give you an idea of what those results mean, here is some information from the website of our energy consultant, Capital Home Energy.
Best Single Family Kitchen Up To $150,000: Bold Views aka Duchess
This kitchen is quite unique. A black and white kitchen is all the rage right now. Despite the kitchen’s uniqueness, we still think it has the ability to be timeless. This kitchen is perfect for people who want to entertain. Especially with the inclusion of a Wok kitchen. To top it off, the kitchen has the ultimate West Coast views.
Best Residential Renovation $800,000 and Over: Forever Home aka Primrose
This craftsman style home was in need of a refresher. We also had to fix the foundation, which had been sinking over the years. The biggest visible changes were on the main floor and upstairs. We did a massive reno to the master bathroom, but then the rest of the floor was more surface. See some before and afters here.
