Having grown up on Vancouver’s North Shore, where everyone seems to be connected to everyone, we get how important community is. As we grow as a company, we strive to make sure we give back to our own small community here in Lynn Valley. Since our children began school a few years ago, we’ve been able to create a relationship with the Parent Advisory Council at Lynn Valley Elementary School. The Lynn Valley PAC works hard to support the school with various fundraising efforts throughout the year. We are happy to be able to sponsor the event. We even had our own fun zone! The Hasler Homes Fun Zone included a craft table, various games, bouncy castles, and, of course, the total wipeout (see the blurry photo), which the Hasler Boys & Friends LOVED. They also recreated a small pumpkin patch in the parking lot for the kids to pick their pumpkins from. It was definitely nice to have the feeling of a pumpkin patch right in the middle of North Van. The Lions were there and helpful as always, providing food for the event. The event ended up raising around $11,000! The PAC will use that money to buy supplies for the school. They work with the teachers and the school to always make sure they’re making the best purchases too, so all the children can benefit.
For the four hours that the event was on, it’s pretty amazing that it raised so much. We’re so proud of our community for rallying together to enjoy a fun day and make a difference in one of our local schools.
Other Community Events
Earlier this year, Team Hasler spent some time making garden boxes for this school year’s new program, The Edible Garden Project. We’ve already started to see some results from the children working on it. Another great initiative of the PAC’s that we were happy to be able to support.
It definitely takes a village!
