Entrances that Make for a Stylish First ImpressionThe entrance of a home has sometimes been referred to as ‘the handshake of a home’ and we couldn’t agree more. As home builders we have seen many different doorways and foyers. Some of our favourites are the ones we have been lucky enough to have built. As we share these entrances with you, consider aspects you like from each one, you may be surprised at how many different styles you like. Enjoy!
Lomond:
The homeowners of Lomond hired Karly Kristina Design to design their renovation. Together they came up with a classic but modern space to welcome friends and family. Our favourite part of the entrance is the inlaid herringbone tile that gives the illusion of an area rug.
Lynn Canyon:
The homeowners of Lynn Canyon chose all the interior finishes themselves and then used Stephanie Hilton Design to style each room. There was nothing wrong with their entranceway before so we refreshed with a new bold colour. This choice definitely brought a new fun feeling of life to this young family’s ‘new’ home.
Bridgman:
A young family’s new home is a very exciting time and we were so excited to be a part of this family’s experience. For the entranceway of this craftsman home, Rob Blaney, the designer, let as much natural light as possible in, and it worked beautifully in this open space.
Brand:
When we met this local architect, and the property that he had chosen to build on, we were ecstatic. From the front of the house you get the feeling of a bungalow but once you step inside, you see that it is actually a 4 level home with escaping views of Vancouver. The interior of this home, including the entrance way, is not showing lots of design in quantity of details but instead, a very high quality of the material used. The front door is hand milled, along with all other wooden design elements within Brand.
Summerside:
This illuminated ceiling detail is one of the best parts of this entrance.
